‘We wanted an external assessment of our current supply chain processes, including those sitting outside of our department, allowing us to redesign the internal supply chain prior to implementing an inventory management system. The recommendations made within the report have initiated useful conversations within the Trust about the level of clinical time being spent on supply chain activity and a roadmap of development has been created for the Logistics Team, to increase the scope of the service offering.

‘The trust became a Scan4safety demonstrator site in January 2016 and the focus was rolling out GS1 standards and an inventory management system.
